Green Juice Skin Care Acne Remover

We’re all familiar with the age old ‘myth’ of fruit and vegetables being good for your skin, and yes, perhaps it was just a ploy by your mother to get you to eat your greens. However, new research conducted at St Andrews University highlighted how fruit and vegetables can indeed have a fantastic effect on your complexion.

Consuming fruit and vegetables in their purest form and knocking back a hit of antioxidants in a juice diet plan and powerful nutrients in one go can do wonders for your skin. What better way to get your fix than in a delicious juice?

So here’s the perfect solution to acne ridden skin:

2 medium carrots
2cm (1in) cube ginger
4 small asparagus spears, unpeeled

1 small handful freshly cut wheatgrass,
Or 1 level tsp of powdered greens, such as wheatgrass, chlorella or spirulina

Place all your ingredients in a juicer one after another and juice them. Pour juice into a container and drink.

Don’t overload on high-fructose fruits.

If this recipe doesn’t tickle your taste buds try Blueberries, which are particularly high in Vitamin A and will regulate sebum levels. Sebum production is the oil that acts as a catalyst for the series of events that lead to acne.

Juicing beetroot and avocado can also improve acne as they are anti-inflammatory and will detox the liver to stimulate liver cells that in turn, improves kidney and bladder function as well. Due to most of the toxins in the body being detoxified, your skin and general appearance will improve!

Celery is also a great ingredient as it is hormone regulating and much adult acne is caused by hormone imbalances.

Another skin issue, which can majorly affect people’s confidence, is Rosacea. Symptoms include flushing, spots of redness, thickening of the skin and eye problems such as dry eyes and eyelids. Rosacea can flare up at any time, commonly triggered by alcohol, exercise and eating spicy foods.

1 large apple
1 large carrot
¼ medium-sized cucumbers
½ ripe avocados
1 borage-seed-oil capsule or evening-primrose-oil capsule

Place all your ingredients in a juicer one after another and juice them. Pour juice into a container and drink.

Calming and soothing ingredients such as cucumber can help to combat skin inflammation. Skin-calming antioxidants and anti-inflammatory essential fatty acids also work in the case of rosacea.

Last but not least is the dreaded dry/flaky skin, which can be itchy and uncomfortable. Sufferers often struggle to hide it and it can cause many day-to-day issues.

Gone will be the days of dry skin with this recipe:

Handful of spinach
200ml of coconut water

Load your juicer up and let these ingredients take care of you. The celery and coconut water are super hydrating.
